I received an e-mail today that instructs one in how to generate one's silly name from one's real name. I was so amused, I wrote a quick
Silly Name Generator to automate the process. I often wonder whether I'm too subtle.

Mom and Dad are making a trip up to Vermont this weekend so Mom can get a look at the annual quilt show in Northfield. If everything works out, they'll be staying on the floor in my apartment at least one of the evenings this weekend.
Anyone wishing to contact them should call me at (802)863-6595.

Hrmph. I'm still figuring this thing out. One of these days I'll read the felicitous manual (
RTFM) and I know everything will be OK.

I'm off to choir rehearsal. The VSO Chorus is doing several Joplin rags, Samuel Barber's
Adagio for Strings, made famous as the theme to the movie
Platoon. More info on that concert later.

OK. Sure things are different, obviously the look is different. The feel is different, heck everything is different. Needless to say, the only difference is the name of the default page for this directory. The old website is still available at
http://robrohr.org/default.asp. The Germany photos are available in unedited (
huge) format at
http://robrohr.org/germany2001. Careful there folks, tremendous patience or a fat data pipeline are needed to have a satisfactory experience. I promise I will clarify context and trim the fat from all the pictures. The most characteristic photos are in the root of that directory and named to match the context. All source photos are arranged by day in subdirectories named for the location where the photos were taken.

I'm back from Atlanta and therefore, also back from
Germany. Naturally I have been delinquent in communicating with the family on all counts, so here I am, trying to interface blogger with my account. It seems to be platform agnostic, so I will give it a whirl. I'm pleased by Paul's results at
evohr.org, and if this works out well, I'll set up one for Jen to use for her burgeoning family.
Feel free to use the photos in the album for non-commercial use.
Offenders using the photos for commercial use without gaining author permission (and presumably forking over an appropriately hefty royalty) will be boiled.
